My Cute Little Monkey

Monkey Business

So, this past weekend, my dad and my sister came to visit. It was a short visit, but we had a lot of fun. My mother-in-law was also in town and had been for a few weeks. She was a great help with both Cristian and Chris. I was sad when she left because she does so much to help out. My mother-in-law and my sister took Cristian to get his pictures taken. They turned out sooooo cute! I included a couple for you to see. Yes, the monkey is mine.

The Talk of the Emergency Room

The Football Game

So, these past two weeks have been interesting. I'm not doing great on my goal of posting every week, but I do have a good excuse this time. Two Saturdays ago, my husband and my brother-in-law went to play flag football with our local ward team. Amazingly, both of them blew out their knees in the same game. The injuries were about a half hour apart. What are the chances? We spent all day in the emergency room and yes, it was the joke amongst the doctors and nurses. My sister-in-law and I took the kids to get something to eat and when we returned, we asked the man directing traffic in the emergency room if we could be let back to see our husbands. He said, "Oh the football players?" Yes, even some random employee in the lobby knew about the famous football players. Chris had surgery the following Thursday to repair a torn Patellar Tendon. Mikey, my brother-in-law will he having surgery in a few weeks to repair a torn ACL. Chris will be on crutches for three months and starts physical therapy next week. Luckily his teachers are working with him, so he is going to try to finish out the semester. Cristian has also been a little under the weather. He had a minor ear infection and a cold; it seems to be clearing up though. He had his six month doctor's appointment the day after Chris' surgery. He is 15 lbs and a 1/2 oz and 26 1/4 inches long. We have started baby food, which has been an interesting challenge. It appears he is going to be a vegetarian because, so far, he hates chicken. Well, I will keep you posted on the excitement in our house. Hopefully things will settle down for awhile.
