Cristian and I in Williamsberg

Cristian is One-Year-Old

The past few weeks have been eventful. Cristian and I went to Washington DC where we visited my sister. We did a lot of sight seeing, which was a lot of work for me, but it was fun. We were able to see Williamsburg, James Town, York Town, Mount Vernon, and the zoo. We also visited the outlet mall in Williamsburg, which if any of you ever get a chance to see, I would recommend it. It has every store you can imagine. The plane ride was interesting. Since I was flying alone with a baby, I was quite paranoid about it. The people I sat next to both ways were very helpful and were very patiet. They all helped entertain and Cristian won them over immediately. I still don't think I will be trying that by myself again any time soon though.

This past week I was able to go see the new high school. It is really going to be amazing. I am excited to see the finished product. Chris has been busy with school as usual. He had to draw numbers for his capstone next semester. Good thing he is lucky because he got American Fork Hospital in the ICU, which is what he wanted. Cristian turned one and we had a birthday party for him. I think he had fun. He got a lot of cool toys and shoved a ton of cake in his mouth, which was so hilarious to watch. I have stopped nursing and I'm sure, once the pain subsides, I will be happy to be back my normal self. It is my birthday today and I am now 32-years-old. How time flies!

He is growing up sooo fast!

So it has been awhile for me since my last post. I have been busy with my new job and trying to find time to write. Cristian is growing fast. He will be a year at the end of this month. Yeah, no more nursing. Yes, I have managed to last this long while working full-time. Cristian still hasn't figured out the mystery of crawling, but he does an army crawl. He also has started pulling himself up on things. I think the walking phase is around the corner. He is really active and wears me out daily. He has eight teeth now and is over 19 pounds. Chris is in his third semester of the nursing program and doing well. He made the Dean's List last semester with knee surgery and all. He is done with physical therapy, but has a long road to full recovery. He still walks with a limp and is in pain some of the time. As I mentioned earlier, I have been so busy with work planning a program for a new school. I spend my days at the district office creating forms, coming up with names for programs and places in the school, and researching programs used at other schools throughout the nation. I like it, but I miss the interaction with the students. It can be quite boring working on a computer most of the day.

Happy New Year!!!

Well, we are back from our long vacation and busy as usual. We went to El Paso for Christmas, drove to Phoenix for the Ram's game, then drove to California for New Year's. It was an eventful vacation. Cristian was definitely spoiled with all the presents he received. I guess being the first grandchild in my family pays off. Cristian slept through his first movie at the movie theater, but it was hit and miss from there on. Sometimes he slept, other times not so much. We spent New Year's at Disney Walk. It was a classic Anaheim New Year's. Now that we are back, things are crazy as usual. I am starting a new job as Head Counselor at Herriman High School, which is not done being built yet. I will be working from the District Office for the rest of the year. Chris is busy with school as usual and in his third semester of the Nursing Program. Cristian has starting attending the Daycare at Bingham High School and loves it. He gets to play with toys and other babies all day.
